We didn't just want to create somewhere for children to come and play for a while.

We wanted to create a space for you, too.

​

As parents ourselves, we know how it feels to walk into places that are loud, overwhelming, and exhausting. Where you're constantly on edge, counting down the time until it's over.

​

Poppelwood was created to feel different.

​

A calm, welcoming space where children can explore, imagine, and play freely, and where you can sit down, breathe, and feel at ease.

Everything we do is guided by one simple idea:
care for people, care for the environment, and create something that feels good to be part of.

That means thinking about more than just the experience on the surface.

It means asking:

  • Does this feel safe?

  • Does this feel welcoming?

  • Does this respect the families who visit us?

  • Does this support the people who work here?

  • Is this a space we would feel happy bringing our own child to?
     

Because if it doesn't meet that standard, it doesn't belong in Poppelwood.

We don't see you as customers coming in and out.

We see families, parents who might just need that little break while their little one plays.

Or if you're anything like me, in those first 18 months, a place where I can meet other mums who are struggling in some way just like I did.

As a mum who had to build her community so I can feel safe, heard, and understood, we want to try and build that same feel in Poppelwood.

To feel warm, gentle, and inclusive.

Whether you have a baby, a toddler, or older siblings, we want you to feel like there is space for all of you here.

Sustainability matters deeply to us, not as a trend, but as a responsibility. Which involves more than just putting the right paper cup in the right bin.

It's about our whole team as well. 

That means:

  • ensure our team is taken care of and treated with respect

  • being mindful of materials and waste

  • making thoughtful choices about how we run our space

  • creating a business that supports, rather than exploits

We take real care in maintaining a clean, safe environment that you can trust.

Not just because we have to, but because we would expect the same for our own children.
